A flying car start-up backed by Google co-founder Larry Page has unveiled its first prototype vehicle and said it plans to launch a commercial version by the end of the year.

The flying vehilce is named as Kitty Hawk, for the Wright Brothers' first controlled flight.

The prototype looks and feels a lot like a flying motorcycle. The controls are built into a set of handlebars and work similar to buttons and joysticks on a video game controller.

The company Kitty Hawk is saying that the final Vehile will look different to the prototype. The recently revealed prototype runs on eight electrically-powered rotors and can take off and land vertically in a similar way to a helicopter.

The Kitty Hawk Flyer is a new, all-electric aircraft. According to the creators, it is safe, tested and legal to operate in the United States in uncongested areas under the Ultralight category of FAA regulations. They’ve designed the first version specifically to fly over water. You don’t need a pilot’s license and you’ll learn to fly it in minutes. The official Flyer will be available by the end of the year. The price for this flyer is not yet announced, but the company is offering interested consumers the Opportunity to pay $100 now for a $2,000 discount when the vehicle comes out.

Kitty Hawk Flyer can automatically hold an altitude of up to 15 feet.

Kitty Hawk is not the only company offering Flying machine. Few other companies like Airbus ,Zee.Aero and Ehang are also working on releasing similar flying machines.
